ABOUT US

The Brislington Village Pre-School was registered as a private limited company in September 2015.  It took over a pre-existing committee run pre-school that was established in 1972.

We are a pack away setting in a church hall.  We operate within a large main hall and from two separate rooms.  We have a two-tier garden, woodland setting and concrete.  We take children from the age of 18 months old.

As a team we recognise how children interact differently with the world around them and other people, which is central to understanding the child and how to fully support their development.

We are experienced in working with children with additional needs.  We are sensitive to children's unique needs, emotions and interests and take pride in being fully inclusive.  The Senco team work together with the parents to fully support the children to enable them to achieve their full potential.  The setting has a sensory room which provides a range of stimuli to encourage individuals to develop and engage their senses.  This is a safe environment where children can manage their stress and reduce anxiety levels in a safe and controlled environment.

We regularly visit the local community with visits to the library, shops, park and our own allotment.

We have a toddler room and a pre-school age room for our children. The toddler room can take a maximum of 14 children per day.  The toddler room also provides a quiet area for the younger children to rest and sleep if they choose to during their time with us at the pre-school.

We have a high adult to child ratio of one adult to every eight children for the three year old children, one adult to four children for our 2-3 year olds, and one adult to three children for our 18 months to 2 year olds, this provides excellent care of all the children.

We use Tapestry for our online learning journals so you can keep up to date with everything your child has been learning at the pre-school.  We encourage parents to add learning moments to their child's learning journal.
